About You
All the activities organised were really fun and involved a lot of active learning
A lot of important people took their time to come speak to us.
The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly, When we were set independent activities I felt like I could approach anyone and ask for help.
Learnt a lot of transferable skills including public speaking and forming a strong argument
The Company
Very well structured. First we were given a talk about a topic, for instance equity research, we then had to complete a stock research challenge, and then we had the choice to shadow an equity researcher. Thus, each activity allowed us to build on prior knowledge.
Fun - everyone doing it was really friendly!
There was no one-to-one feedback. All the advice given was general.
We were able to a shadow a position of our choice on the last day. This allowed understand what they do on a day-to-day basis and it also allowed us to see the workspace.
On the first day a lot of the sessions were focused on Fidelity. They placed an emphasis on how the firm is privately owned and thus unique from its peers, Furthermore, in networking events employers who had previously worked in other firms further confirmed this.
Very valuable, I realized that I would prefer to work at a buy-side firm relative to a sell-side
Everything Else
All travel was covered.
Yes, there was one big networking event on the last day with all the workers who had spoken to us on the previous days
There were lots of people so it did not feel everyone was crowding round one person
Yes, Fidelity caomplete a lot of charity work
Yes, it was fun but at the same time I learnt a lot
