About You
9- Able to gain vast knowledge on a large part of the business and it's different roles to see which I am most suited to in a short space of time.
9- Everybody was very helpful when asked questions, employees willing to give out emails for any follow up questions and set aside time to ask any other questions. Also seemed interested in us as people and gave us insights into working at BAML that wouldn't be able to get elsewhere.
8- HR always there during networking sessions to ask any questions regarding the day or any other questions we had regarding the firm. Older employees willing to share experience and aid in sessions. May be improved if were given a buddy who works in the respective sector we wish to be assigned to for the week, have daily meetings with them.
9- learnt more about how an investment bank works, as it is more complex than initially thought. Also gained skills that can be applied elsewhere such as presentation skills, networking experience and practise at sifting through large quantities of information.
The Company
7- Well structured, lots of diverse and interactive skill sessions. May be better if there were to be a break in the long sessions ( 3 hours ) as the investment banking people in particular said that as this session had less interaction than others also that it was harder to concentrate and absorb the information for the time of the session. Also perhaps more employees to network with in the sessions as hard to ask with large number of students, less networking with each other later on during the week.
8- A very welcoming atmosphere, everybody was willing to put aside time to answer questions. There was lots of energy which was particularly good as it kept the motivation of the group up
8- large number of sessions in which could learn and practise skills. Would be better if we're given more feedback in the sessions for employees of the firm as then would know what skills were not as strong and could improve these, nearly all feedback was done by fellow students.
9- Employees were very open and honest about working times and what there day to day working life is like and how diverse and sometimes challenging it can be. Difficult however to predict how many roles will change over the years due to the advancement of technology and also due to the changing regulations.
9- Companies culture was shown in sessions and also could be seen amongst employees. Also shown how it differentiated itself from other banks and now it carries out and ensures its aims. Employees were highly motivated.
10- Learnt a lot about various sectors within the bank that I hadn't previously considered which will be useful to me going forward as allows me to know how the investment bank functions as a whole. Also gained knowledge that wouldn't have been able to be gained elsewhere to truly decide if it is the career for you

7- Daily networking sessions with a large number of employees from different divisions. However, large quantity of students to each employee, meant it was difficult to ask questions and harder to go into any detail with the employee. Also would be better if employees were able to be distinguished by a different name tag for example as it is very hard with such large numbers of people to identify some of the employees.
8- large number of varied socialising and networking events. The meal was particularly a highlight as met numerous employees in a more relaxed environment so that we could ask any questions we had. However, large number of events required more employees and networking amongst one another not needed for such a long time every morning.
9- there were some sessions regarding environmental sustainability and volunteering outside of work, in addition to sports teams and other groups setup for employees. There is a lot on offer however, when asked employees seemed to shy away from these questions or had little knowledge/ experience of them .
10 - it's a great way to explore an investment bank in a very welcoming environment and to meet lots of employees from the bank.
