The Role
Workwise, was a good oppportunity to get some experience in finance and the issues surrounding investments. Interesting work. Very lacking on the social side compared to other offices.
You are made to feel like a member of the analyst team and they do have confidence in you that you can achive tasks and work well which is a good point. In the team overall however you may have to put in more effort than its worth (personal opinion) to feel welcomed by consultants. Some of them are very approachable but be prepared to go way beyond half way to build any relationship with them.
Support was really good, not only with a buddy and team leader but also a mentor to monitor and plan your progress.
I was kept busy with plenty of work to do, which was a good thing.
Level of responsibility was high and really exposes you to the work and pressures of being an analyst. The work is used directly (after checking) for client and consultant use.
alot of transferrable skills are learnt including time management, organisation and working to deadlines.
The Company
Very quiet, could hear a pin drop at times. While most are freindly, there is a lack of warmth in the office. Its okay if you are kept busy but otherwise can potentially be very boring.
Good Induction and final day. Regular IC talks. Perhaps could do with more communication with graduate recruitment during it.
If you like it then the career path is fairly clear.
The Culture
Other interns freindly, main intern socials available in London though.
Leeds is a very good city to socialise in
Good range/atmosphere
Not really, if you want that youd be better off in London office
