About You
The activities that HR organized were second to none, from the archive tours to the volunteering session, it was all perfectly planned out. Business reps were also very friendly and approachable, even to the most basic of questions (in fact they encouraged it!)
We had to do a group presentation on the final day, throughout the week there were activities that really helped us with not just our skills, but also content-wise e.g. discussing what really goes on in M&A transactions.
As I don't study a finance or economics based degree, I don't think GFA would be incredibly relevant to my university studies. But for a career in finance in the future, this is definitely of very good use, especially the technical knowledge I acquired.
The Company
The office and people were amazing, from the HR down to everyone at the firm. There was a very approachable attitude from everyone (participants), and everyone was eager to help each other out.
It's just a week so it's difficult to judge, but we all really felt how much the programme was planned out for us, and the efforts put into developing everyone.
I would say a summer internship is a more realistic understanding of how a full-time role would be.
Very helpful; by engaging with a variety of people at the firm, you really get to understand what working at Rothschild might be like in terms of atmosphere and culture.
Even though it was a Global Financial Advisory programme, we were lucky to have had introductory sessions on other areas at Rothschild e.g. Wealth Management, which was very interesting
Everything Else
Had no need to
We had work shadowing sessions, afternoon teas, lunches
Definitely!
