The Role
The people there were great and I was increasingly given more variety and responsibility
The culture and values towards employees is very good. There really is a 'family' type atmosphere there.
My line manager was there most of the time for support. I certainly learnt a lot from her in 12 months.
Most of the time I was fairly busy which is a good thing.
While it was unfortunate for some people, there were several redundancies at the company. I benefited from this in that after 6 months, I was given many of their roles to do. I ended up managing on a day to day basis a small car rental service.
I learnt far more from being on a work placement than I ever did at Uni. This introduction to the corporate world was invaluable!
The Company
Pretty good - there's was plenty of nights out organised so everyone got on well.
Could have been better. There was a mix up with my start date, and the structure of the 12 months could be improved.
Not so much in formal training, but the tasks and responsibility I was given over time helped me develop greatly.

When I left my placment, I didn't think I'd ever go back, as I didn't agree with the direction of the company at the time. However, 4 months after graduating I was offered a job, when new senior management came in. I returned in Nov 04 and am still there now!
The Culture
I'm still in touch with many people I worked with. There was a good social scene throughout the company, and always nights out organised.
It''s greater London so fairly expensive. But the salary was sufficient to live and socialise well.
Central London was only a 30 min train ride away. But the nightlife in the area was pretty good.
I played for the company football team. Plus there was opportunities to volunteer for team charity work.
