About You
It was an extremely pleasant and insightful experience. Not only did I learnt a lot about RBS and the finance market in general, I also enjoyed meeting the other candidates and RBS employees. It was very helpful to know how they work and why they chose RBS for their careers.
All of the RBS employees are really open and helpful. During the job shadowing, people openly shared their experiences and helped me to the best of their effort. In general, it was a very pleasant experience and I did not feel left out in any way.
Ample. The insight week itself was designed to let both me and RBS to know more about each other and we certainly did. Lewis and John were both very helpful and responsive. During the job shadowing, I received very kind help from the employees too, regardless of their positions in the firm.
I would say that the interpersonal skills and career guidances that I acquired during this internship outweigh the practical skills. The experience really helped me to learn more about banking and RBS. I had a clearer direction after the internship and that is certainly valuable. It was also interesting to see how RBS employees work with each other, even if they are from different departments.
The Company
It was very well arranged and as a candidate I felt really respected and taken care of. After the first day when we headed back to the hotel, all the keys were prepared for candidates and it saved everyone a lot of time. There were many more details as such that shows the effort that RBS put into this week. I did not feel bored or lost at any point during the internship.
Brilliant. Again I mentioned above, I truly enjoyed the homely environment in RBS and how everyone works with the same principles and towards the same direction. It was surely an encouragement for me and I certainly would love to work in RBS in the future.
Although it was only a week long, I was exposed to many business areas in a short period of time. RBS really paid effort to help us to see as much as possible in the week.
Very much. This is my favorite aspect of the internship. I really got to see what life is like in RBS and that is a very important part of my career choice. I talked to people who has worked for RBS for decades and their experiences really helped me with my understanding of the firm.
Again, I learnt a lot about RBS's culture in that week. Since the first introduction session, values such as 'serving customers', 'do the right thing' and so on were mentioned multiple times. The actions from the employees really supported these words too.
It was certainly very helpful. As I mentioned above, this was a rare opportunity for me to get a real and close loop of the industry and the company. It really helped me to shape my future career path.
Everything Else
The expenses were paid fairly.
Surely I did. I had chances to talk to employees at almost every point of the day.
They were very good. The atmosphere was casual but the employees were very patient to answer my questions.
Yes, I did. During the last day of the internship, I was exposed to a number of RBS societies and they were very interesting.
Certainly, I have done that.
