About You
The insight programme gave me a vivid insight to life at RBS and working in the services division.
I felt valued during the programme. There was no point during the programme where I felt like I couldn't speak to a member of staff about something.
We were given contact numbers from the programme coordinators if we ever needed guidance or support on an issue
The main way this programme has assisted me with regards to my career is that it is has given me more information about working in this industry in the future
The Company
There was a clear structure to the programme and we were given an overall structure before the programme and a more specific programm detailing what we would be doing on each day on the first day
The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly
The programme was designed to give us an insight in RBS rather than focus on personal development but the assessments which included group presentations and a case analysis were good ways of developing our skills to deal with these sorts of tasks in the future
We were given a vivid insight into life at RBS through the shadowing and talks we had with different workers at RBS
Being able to visit different divisions gave me a coherent understanding of the company's culture which is now changing to focus on customer service and rentention
Being able to experience working in different divisions helped me to decide if this is a career path that I would in the future
Everything Else
We reimbursed for expenses up to a certain amount during the programme which was sufficient
There was never an opportunity to not network during the programme either with other interns or people at RBS
The networking opportunities were useful and allowed me to meet with a wide range of people
Yes we had a group sessions with workers at RBS who also undertake activities outside of work and spoke about how to get involved and hI e different opportunities
Yes I would recommend this opportunity to a friend who doesn't know much about banking and financial institutions and wants to get a better understanding of them
