The Role
Really enjoyed my time there! The placement scheme is exactly what you make of it - unlimited opportunities.
Got given more and more responsibility
Worked very individually, though support was there when I needed it.
Sometimes I was very busy and sometimes I didn't have much to do, but this is normal.
Helped the executive with high level actions. I'd say that's a good amount for my experience level.
Developed my presentation and communication skills. This will be really useful in my ideal career as a business/tech consultant.
The Company
Worked in several offices. The Southbank/Hursley office has a great professional vibe!
Very well organized scheme! Lots of opportunity to get involved.
There was lots of opportunity to learn a new skill or part of the business. All employees are required to do 40hour of education per year.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I've gained a lot of confidence over the year and hence feel prepared for anything that can be thrown at me at assessment centers/interviews.
The Culture
I was lucky in that I networked a lot and therefore met a lot of other interns though extra activities. However If you're not based in one of the main offices, the opportunities to network aren't great.
Very cheap area to rent and live (Farnborough) however social scene wasn't great (but I guess that made it even cheaper!)
Virtually no nightlife in Farnborough, however this is different if you are based in Hursley/Southbank.
Lots of opportunities available!! I got involved with a range of foundation run activities such as a hackathon, an IBM website and an IoT challenge.
