About You
Overall, I feel like the Leadership Academy of EY was my favourite insight this spring. EY was really concerned about you as an individual and to develop as a leader rather than trying to win you to their company. I met so many great and like minded people. Although the week was very intense, I think it made me growth stronger as an individual.
EY puts a lot of effort into making you feel valued through out your Spring Insight Programme. There was not once a time that you could feel that the people treated you with less respect. I felt like I were already working for the firm. Our advisors were always approachable and showed interest in you. Aside from that, the food was great and I enjoyed the activities.
Our advisors were really helpful during the week and assisted you all the time. In terms of guidance, I could not imagine any more support. It reached from personal feedback sessions and coaching sessions to even a video of you working in a team. For me personally, it helped me a lot to find certain things that I would like to improve in the future as my body language for example.
The Leadership Academy is all about making you as an individual better and to develop leadership skills. Looking back, I could definitely see the improvements which are reflected in my better communication skills for example. It has always something that I wanted to work on and through these coaching sessions, activities and video footage, I learned where I exactly I have to work on.
The Company
The insight is very well organised. The week was intense and started from the day that you arrived. Personally, I find this very good as you’re making the most of your time. However, breaks were scheduled and food was provided all the time. There was a lot of variety and I learnt always something new in each session.
I would describe the atmosphere as very pleasing. You do not feel any rivalry from the other candidates. Friendships were formed quickly. There are a lot of group works which gives you the opportunity to get to know your fellow peers. From all the activities, I enjoyed the night time activities the most.
Through conversations with our advisors we learned a lot about EY what it is like working for them. But also the other employees were very friendly and were approachable. They took their time to talk with you and answered all of my questions without giving me the feeling that I am wasting their time.
The Leadership Academy helped a lot about deciding about my future career path. I am more enthusiastic than ever the pursue a career as an accountant. Altough some people find the many PowerPoint presentations boring, I think they helped me a lot to learn more about EY and what options I have.
Everything Else
We had a lot of opportunities to socialize with EY employees during the week. We could ask any questions. And as employees from different service lines attended, I got a good impression what it is like working for EY. During every meal you had basically the chance to talk to employees and even received an email list with useful contracts.
Without hesitation I would recommend the Leadership Academy of EY to a friend who is interested in accounting. It paid off in terms of personal development, to get a feel what it is like to be an accountant and the company culture at EY. Especially the atmosphere was great and hence, overall a great week.
