    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere at VWFS is very friendly and supportive, which is due to the values and culture they have enstilled in their organisation. There are also many social activities, whether being across the whole organisation or specific to your individual teams which brings a more social and fun feel to the office. In peak working periods the morale within the office was always strong, with everyone willing to get involved and support.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was really well set up, the process of going from application to interview and then working was seamless with events such as the familarisation day created to ease you into a new environment. When joining you were given a personal induction plan from your manager, along with the business wide inductions which allowed you to see structure in your learning.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was a range of training and development course which I could get involved in which helped on areas such as personal growth and impact, as well as hard skills such as presentations and excel. As well as the planned training courses, you were also made to feel that you could get involved in developmental areas which were not specific to youu role, such as overviews and patricpation in CSR and Teamswork activites.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The prospect of working within VWFS again is very apealing as the company promote growth. However I feel this would be enhanced with the offering of a Graduate scheme as this would provide a clear next step to undergraduates and would help continue and build on the development and skills learnt within our placement. This said, the ability to apply for entry level positions makes coming back to VWFS something to consider.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • There was a variety of social activities including summer parties and organised day trips such as Ascot. The team I worked within also made a consious effort to hold team activities and welcomed new ideas to improve our team dynamics.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Milton Keynes offers a sufficent night life however in comparisons to many big cities and universities this can be different.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes there were many activities to get involved which I feel is specifically benefical to undergraduates which relocate as they are able to meet new people. The undergraduates also worked together to arrange new activities which we hope will continue throughout each years placements such as football and netball teams.
