The Role
Unlucky with team. Didn't know difference between buy and sell side. Blackrock asset manager not an investment bank. Easy mistake to make I did.
Give you a fair amount of responsibility. Feel they learnt something from my project.
Very little support. Think this was the manager in quesiton as other interns seemed well supported and motivated.
slightly bored as project uninteresting. Towards end though extremely busy.
Fair amount of responsibility but only in presentation.
Defeinitely good skills. Using bloomberg, reuters, loads of understanding; portfolio construction, trade ideas, valuation (modelling very tought with little guidance)
The Company
Poor on specific team. Good overall in the office.
Relatively well organised. More socials would be nice however. HR were good most seemed to be well organised and whole thing taken seriously by all even important people.
Invested in Bloomberg, traning for that, 1on1 excel training so pretty goood.
Company Parties/Events
Not for me. Great if you want to become a fund manager and first an alayst looking at company reports and models all day long!
The Culture
Too few nights out. Interns more interested in working that going out and socialising on the whole.
Very expensive as to be expected in London. Living costs awful and going out depends where you go but still expensive.
City of London - Very poor nightlife!
Only saw one opportunity - to play football which I don't enjoy
