The Role
I felt like I was given enough responsibility from day one, and was made to feel like a member of staff rather than just an intern
My team were brilliant, they helped me look for houses when I relocated and were always happy to answer questions whilst I was learning
I had weekly updates with my manager to set targets and review my progress
It varies from day to day depending on the projects I had. Some days I could be doing just enough work to get by comfortably, others I could be rushed off my feet
I was responsible for software development, metrics and handling finances for different departments which was much more than I ever expected
I learned an invaluable range of skills and experience that I just would not have got in my degree alone, I would recommend this placement to anybody
The Company
With larger projects sometimes there was some stress, but overall we had a small office filled with laughs
The placement was well organised and clearly defined between me and my manager. I was also given the opportunity to network with all of the other interns at different sites
They offered me to get involved on any projects I wanted, and supported any extra training or projects that I wanted to undertake. They put a great deal of responsibility in me also

Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I have an increased chance of getting onto their graduate scheme from getting myself known with high level company management
The Culture
We often organised or attended social events together, mostly going out drinking
I lived in an expensive part of the city so didn't see much of my wages
I lived in Newcastle so the nightlife was amazing
I joined the Sports and Social club and got involved, events were advertised in weekly newsletters and on posters around the site
