The Role
I have enjoyed my placement at Hays. I have found it stressful at times but overall it has been great. My team has been great and I have definitely developed in myself since I have been here.
I have always felt valued by my colleagues. Whenever I have completed tasks for others, I have always been thanked which definitely makes me feel appreciated. I have also been nominated twice for a Support Service award and I was successful on one occasion in winning the award.
I have always been given support by management. Any questions I have asked have been answered and any other help I have needed has been given to me.
I am usually busy which is good. I have a variety of different tasks to complete on a daily basis so I am never bored or running out of things to do. I can have particularly busy days but I like to be kept busy so I enjoy it.
I have been given a lot of responsibility. Dealing with pay queries straight away is important as I can be the person who escalates pay and ensures the worker is paid on time. I deal with rate amends and contract extensions too which need to be actioned on time as well as the workers being informed. I also champion LinkedIn for my team which is a big responsibility. I need to ensure all my team are fulfilling their Linkedin duties.
I have learnt a lot since I have been here and developed as a person. I have gained numerous skills from my placement which to a great extent will help me throughout the rest of my studies and in the working world.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office is good. The team are always bubbly and keen to work.
I think it was quite well organised. All interns were meant to have a 12 week training course which we were not put on originally but I had on the job training so that was fine. We then had training for a few days that did not necessarily relate to my role but it was useful anyway.
I feel that the company has invested in me well and I have been seen as just like every other employee, not someone who is leaving after a year. I have been given a role that has allowed me to develop, which I am grateful for.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
If were to return I could become an associate which does appeal to me. It does not take long to develop and be promoted at Hays which is very good.
The Culture
The social scene is very good, most colleagues attend the pub on a Friday after work which means we have time to chat outside of the workplace. There are other events organised that also allow everyone to get together.
I live at home so I have saved on costs.
When I have been on a night out with work it has been quite expensive, but that is expected as it is London. It takes a while to get home so I have not been out on too many.
There have been opportunities to take part in activities and these are discussed usually in round-ups. However, I have not participated in any.
