The Role
I was very excited about starting, but it did not live up to expectations.
Most staff were very friendly and appreciative apart from one very senior person.
Most times tasks were given with minimal guidance or information. I do not feel like I learnt or was taught a lot.
It was very variable - some days were deathly boring, and some were manic.
Wrote own articles for the blog, did own research, conducted interviews.
Detrimental - style of writing very different to academic writing. Felt like I was forced to change my style of writing.
The Company
Because of a certain person there was a negative atmosphere most of the time.
They have lots of interns so it was well set up.
Not at all.
Healthcare/Dental
I wouldn't choose to work there.
The Culture
Only one other intern who I didn't particularly get on with.
Central London so incredibly expensive. No where cheap to get lunch either.
No one from the office seemed to go out.
Only opportunities were book launches by the sister publishing company, but you were expected to help out.
