The Role
I have extremely enjoyed my year at IBM. I have grown both professionally and personally. My confidence has increased immensely, I have been able to expand my network and develop multiple skills that I was unable to at University, as well as adapt to a corporate setting.
Always thanked and appreciated by my team for my work.
Always supported by management and team.
This fluctuated depending on last minute requests.
A lot of responsibility - handled confidential information and provided useful and detailed analysis on data. Produced a lot of work directly for the Director of the team.
I was able to apply my mathematical/analytical skills in my operations role. I am much better at managing my time, work under pressure and working in a team; skills which I can apply in the future.
The Company
Great network of other interns as well as exposure to management team. Great balance.
Always had support from my Early Professionals Manager (EPM) and Task Manager. Received constant feedback and was reviewed multiple times throughout the year, which measured my development and areas of improvement.
Was able to attend team meetings away from the office, as well as an opportunity to receive some education on an IBM product. All expenses were reimbursed.
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Extremely appealing.
The Culture
Great network of interns, especially in Southbank. Regular socials. Also was invited and attended multiple social events with my team.
Although it is expensive to live an socialise in London, there is still a lot of things you can get involved in and explore here.
Yes, I was able to get involved in a lot of giveback - such as helping out at careers fairs, assisting in assessment centers and also took part in managing somebody withing IBM's Ignite program for 4 weeks.
