The Role
I truly believe Hays work placement is the best out of all the others on offer. In this placement you gain insight into different types of employment, different industries, attend client visits and meet so many different people. I really enjoyed my placement year and I would highly recommend anyone to apply who is extremely sociable and confident.
I feel accountable and responsible for the tasks I am given by my colleagues. For instance, if I don't complete my work in time, it delays their work, therefore, the work I am completing is crucial and meaningful. I love how I am given responsibility rather than small jobs which are not very important.
This is an up and down topic. Support is given continuously, however, as managers are in and out of meetings, they are not always there for help. If you are independent and inquisitive, you will shine at Hays and you build a positive reputation.
Some days you can be completely rushed of your feet and others can be a little quiet. It is so important to plan your week rather than just the next day. Being organised and bearing in mind your targets, you will be busy whether you become a recruiter, resourcer or administrator.
I was accountable and responsible for a wide range of tasks. From being in control of recruiting for graduates on a large scale to recruiting for high level management, it is important to always consider the clients needs and time frame.
I will always remember Hays through the good and bad. I have gained knowledge of so many more companies for when I apply for graduate roles. I have gained communications skills verbally and written, improved my organisation skills, matured as an individual, solved problems in difficult situations and worked with some amazing people for which I will always aspire to.
The Company
Core hours are always loud with consultants on the phone, busy fun environment!
I think there is room for improvements, however, the flexibility of the placement what makes not one day the same.
I had training in London from Birmingham for two nights, classroom training, on-line training, on the job training as well as training when asked for it on a particular topic.
