    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I was very keen to start my placement at EY, one of the big four. It turned out to be a great experience as expected. During my insight with EY, I felt how passionate EY was in terms of bringing the leadership potential in us out. I taught me a lot of skills including communication and problem solving skills.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • It was my first work experience and therefore I was nervous about we will be treated. However, I was surprised by valued I felt during my whole time. The activities were engaging, the food great and the coaches very friendly. We were treated not differently from employees who actually work there and I find this extremely good.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance was great due to the constant support of your coaches. They stick with you during the whole week and give you personal feedback in your coaching sessions which is fantastic. Furthermore, the employees were very helpful as well and did their best to answer all of our questions.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have developed a wide range of skills in the field of leadership such as communication skills and I learned a lot about body language. Especially the video footage of yourself working in a team work situation is extremely valuable and helped me to correct a few issues which I would have never otherwise known.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The Leadership Academy at EY is well structured and you’re following a programme which EY has specifically designed for the insight day. This means a lot of activities and presentations designed to get the most out of your days with the. You never felt bored and each activity differed from the other.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was good and I have made many good connections with bright students from other universities. Everybody was very kind and wanted you to succeed rather than seeing you as a “threat” in terms of taking your place. It felt more like a school trip. Furthermore, the employees were motivated as well to answer you questions.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Altough it was only for a few days, I got a good impression about the company’s culture. It was better than I have expected from an accounting firm, which usually has not the best name for being a career filled with joy. However, it was actually very fun and interesting.
