The Role
Great experience, opened my eyes to what working for such corporations is like. Enjoyed the company of my team, and thrived with the independence I was given.
I started later than the majority of most students and few members of my team initially went out of my way to make me feel welcome. Also often felt at times that some colleagues didn't recognise the work that I do and they assume my manager does it all.
Never afraid to ask for help, and support and guidance always given when needed.
My main responsibilities where timed to a daily schedule. Once I became completely comfortable in my role (6-7months) there were times in a month (5-8 days) where work was often quiet. On the other hand during month end I used to find my self very busy, juggling tasks.
EVerything I do is generrally reviewed and approved by my manager before submission or distribution. In general he put a lot of trust in my day to day work and didn't spend too long 'double-checking' for mistakes.
No regrets in undertaking this placement. I know exactly what options to chose at University and what professional accounting body I wish to take exams for. My communication, IT and teamworking skills have developed far beyond what I initially imagined.
The Company
Often quiet as a lot of team members lived abroad and where not always in often.
Training was pretty much self-organised, no-one checked to see if I was completing the courses to any particular standard.

The role itself isn't something I'd do as a graduate job. Coming back to Xerox is no way ruled out.
The Culture
Many students here in Uxbridge so I had no complaints.
Didn't live here so I woulndn't know. Socialising was standard, expensive in some places cheaper in others.
Fine on student nights, poor on Fridays and weekends.
nothing that was arranged by my team.
