The Role
Overall I have enjoyed my placement year. I was given a lot of responsibility and was left to defend for myself.
In the first 6 months of placement I felt under valued but after completing half of the 12 months I gained more value as I became more confident in my position.
I was left to my own devices something that I was happy with. For some people this may be a negative thing. I would speak to my manager for support and guidance when I needed it
90% of the time I found myself working at a comfortable pace. I do wish that my workload was higher as I prefer to be a tad busier.
The amount of trust and responsibility I had was fantastic. In way of a better term I was thrown in the deep end of the pool.
My skills in terms of time management, professionalism and confidence has dramatically increased these are of great beneficial to both my degree studies and beyond.
The Company
The colleges that I worked with were fantastic people.
The only downside was the training that I received from the previous placement student. The company were very well organised
The company invested in me very much.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Very appealing great company to work for.
The Culture
As my department had young families this meant that the social scene was not the best.
Very cheap but could of easily been more expensive. Looked around for a bargain and got one
Non-existent but had two bigger cities within 30 mins.
3 local gyms, few rugby teams and I believe there was a 5-a-side team in the company
