The Role
I have absolutely adored my time here, I had no idea I could learn so much in 12 months!
With multiple brands you are able to feel valued across the brands as well as within your immediate team.
My manager and head of business have made my time here as easy as it could be whilst learning as much as possible. You are able to apply for a mentor if the support isn't there, but this doesn't happen often!
Very busy, but still had enough time to complete uni course work and personal development goals such as Excel training.
At times it's scary how much responsibility you have been given, but I know without this responsibility it would be a lot harder to be motivated!
My placement has shaped the modules I have selected in my final year and has also changed my future career planning.
The Company
VWG is an extremely friendly business, with the lack of offices and visibility of all staff - hierarchy isn't an issue here/
The only thing missing from my placement year was involvement in an undergraduate project which has been included in the programme going forward!
I have been able to improve my computing skills and start to create a personal development plan.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Extremely appealing many undergraduates apply for the graduate scheme
The Culture
Yes, I have made friends for life.
Coming from Wales, Milton Keynes seemed a lot more expensive to me. But with the pay at VWG this was affordable.
I miss being able to walk to bars and pubs with loads of friends from my house! You need to drive/taxi to most places in Milton Keynes.
Due to meeting a lot of students in the same situation and with the same perspective, there is always someone to socialise with
