The Role
The placement has provided me a great insight into both the Automotive and Customer Service Industries and valuable experiences which have helped me develop as an individual.
My team were incredibly experienced and I was given so much support, feedback and praise throughout my year. I felt like a true member of the team and the wider business.
I couldn't ask for anymore support from my manager and the wider team throughout my placement - I learnt a lot about how to go about doing the day-to-day job and managing different stakeholders and suppliers.
I was able to travel around a lot on my placement which meant that it was important to manage my workload. Thankfully I had the right amount and there was always room for me to dig into different areas of the business for extra work if needed.
A lot. I was able to manage my own supplier and also had solid connections with other suppliers. I knew that the work that I was doing was making an impact on the greater business and also on customers.
I learnt a lot about how to conduct myself in a large organisation and with different stakeholders. As well as this, it was great to see and understand about how the 'real world' differs to what you read in a text book. There is a lot of time available to develop yourself through courses and activities throughout the company and the door is always open for those who really want to drive themselves forward.
The Company
The office is balanced with a mix of genders, ages and nationalities. The atmosphere is really positive and friendly.
The placement scheme is very well established and recognised throughout the group.
A lot of time is invested in yourself as an individual, whether it be courses, workshops, training or activities. There is always scope and room to extend your learning's and everybody is always looking out for ways to help you develop,

The Culture
Yes. There were a good bunch of placement students who are really easy to interact and socialise with.
In Milton Keynes, you are likely to pay around £380-£500 per month per person for accommodation including bills. The cost of socialising didn't change through moving.
Milton Keynes has clubs, bars and pubs. Whatever the feeling was at the particular time, there was always something to do.
There are different societies at VWG UK. Golf and football are the most popular. Milton Keynes as a whole has many more opportunities such as rugby, swimming, bowling, cinema, skiing and indoor skydiving,
