The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement year at IBM.
IBM is a very friendly organisation who are keen to get you involved straight away.
Management were always there to help and showed an interest in your views.
There was a nice balance between having loads to do and having not so much to do. But there was always something to do
I was given a normal amount of responsibility and often start at the bottom without moving up.
Just having that working mindset and doing a 9-5 everyday has changed my approach to work and I feel next year I will thrive whilst completing my uni work.
The Company
I really enjoyed the office I worked in. There was a good mix of interns and experienced hires.
IBM have a very good idea of what they are doing when it comes to placements. They are organised from the get go.
I feel as if I was given the opportunity to learn things and have a go at them rather than someone else doing them because I had never done something like this before.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Very appealing, they run a successful and interesting grad scheme.
The Culture
The interns often met up and did activities together.
Relatively normal.
Not too bad, not amazing either,
There were a few.
