The Role
I really enjoyed this placement as I felt I was given a great amount of support that I may not have got anywhere else which has helped me to develop & feel more confident in myself & my work. I also got given large responsibilities in my time at Lloyds as well as a range of project to help me develop & also explore different types of work.
The majority of the time I felt very valued by others & treated like an analyst rather than a placement student (this was not the case at the beginning, but that's understandable as I had a lot of initial things to learn) and I felt the work I did was valued by others
From my experience I was given all the support, help & guidance I could possibly need to suit my development points. Everyone was more than willing to help & create opportunities to develop & ways to get around things I wasn't comfortable with. As a result of this I feel much more comfortable in myself & the work I am doing. Couldn't have asked for more.
At the beginning I wasn't overly busy, but this is expected. But as time went on I got busier, there are obviously times when projects come to a close where work dies down a bit before the next project or waiting on someone else. But the majority of the time I was busy & on multiple projects at once.
At the beginning of the placement I was given more trust & responsibility than I expected, which was good, and as time went on I got more and more responsibilities as people gained trust in my work which was really good to help development & made me feel like my work was making a difference.
I don't believe this placement will help much with my further studies but the skills developed will definitely help in getting a job & in my future career. The skills & development I gained also helped me to secure a summer placement which I don't think I would have got otherwise.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is general quite relaxed & friendly. Majority of the time it is quiet enough to work well. Its pretty common to talk to other people while you work & approach people at their desks to discuss things. Everyone is always friendly & easy to talk to.
At the beginning everything seemed a bit unorganised, training took a while to start, spent a lot of time not doing a lot. Majority of things weren't ready for me on my first day so I had to wait for things. Then we couldn't start proper work until the training etc was complete. However after this was all done everything else seemed reasonably organised.
Lloyds are big on personal development & giving you both the time & opportunity to develop on things you want to as well as general training sessions, knowledge sharing & training days. You can request to go on any course you feel would be beneficial. People are also willing to go out of there way to help you with development, so I think it is highly invested in within LBG.

I would definitely consider coming back, the only drawback for me is its not 100% the type of work I feel I want to do personally & that I maybe want a job slightly more high pressured to play to my strengths & development, however there is nothing putting me off coming back I just want to see what else is out there.
The Culture
There is always social activities going on for all including bowling, drinks, meals, go karting, netball, dodgeball, cinema etc ., so there is something for everyone to go to & there is pretty much something every week atleast twice a week. Some socials are done within teams & others department wide. Not to mention the Christmas Party & Forum.
Cost of living & socialising is high, but you can't really escape that in London.
The nightlife is usually pretty good, most bars are busy in the evenings later on in the week & there are lots & lots of places to go to within a very small distance.
