The Role
It was a great way to gain experience needed to get a job after university. The people I've met and connections I've made are very valuable.
I had two roles during my placement and in both I felt like a normal member of the team not like a placement student.
I had regular meetings with my boss, weekly where possible, this gave me a chance to discuss good and bad points of the week and grow my placement experience.
It varies, from content to very busy, but never beyond my capabilities. We had the support necessary to cover if we ever to too much of a workload.
I had my own projects which I took full responsibility for as well as sitting back and helping others.
I learnt a lot more about the actual business world, I got to use the theory I have been taught throughout university and now put it into the real world and develop myself.
The Company
The office is busy and generally happy, you get to know everyone so have a wide range of friends and colleagues to talk to.
It was set up alright, however I had a few changes of manager which wasn't handled the best, although it has ended up a good thing.
I have been given various chances to explore new skills and train, which will allow me to grow.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
At the moment it is up in the air, some graduate jobs are around but the number of these is being reduced.
The Culture
It was good, but only because I was very sports focused so made groups of friends that way.
Exepensive, Reading/Bracknell is on the M4 corridor so it is expensive.
Good, as it is a student town.
Various, I did a range of volunteering and sports activities out of work.
