    • An insight into life at a law firm has enabled me to put what I have learned so far on my GDL into context and allowed me to experience the practical application of the law

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The timetable was simple, varied and allowed the vac schemers to experience working life in their seats. The assessments and social events have complimented the department experience well.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • Very positive! My supervisor was excellent - always upbeat and available to help.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • All tasks were explained to me in detail and all relevant background information / context was given. I have learned a lot throughout the week and have not been given tasks too simple nor too challenging.

    • The insight gave me an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of working life at Walker Morris.

    • The insight was really helpful. Nothing about the experience felt artificial or forced. I felt that I was treated like a new member of the team.

    • The social event was 'hyped up' slightly - fewer trainees were available than hoped, but the positive was the lack of hangover on Thursday morning...

    • Yes - I would recommend applying to the WM Vac scheme to anyone looking to become a solicitor.
