The Role
I thought it was a very useful internship, and I was given a lot of responsibility that helped develop my skill set over the course of the internship.
While my contributions were probably trivial in the grand scheme of things, I felt my work was appreciated by my supervisors.
Very friendly and open environment at RBS. Felt very comfortable maintaining an open dialogue with my line manager and superiors on my desk.
Deal flow fluctuates so it varies throughout the internship. Just be ready to contribute when called upon and you should be fine.
Though I was not "running the show" I felt I was given a level of independence on the work I was assigned and it would be included in the final version presented to clients.
Very helpful, I think I will have an advantage compared to students that did not participate in an internship.
The Company
Results-oriented atmosphere. If you get your work done then no one minds if you take an extended break. Also, everyone is quite friendly.
Very organized in my opinion with lots of extra-curricular events set up for the internship as well.
Attended several training sessions both on-site and externally. Thought their was significant investment in the interns.

I think if the company finds you are talented, then you can definitely expect a job offer.
The Culture
Great social scene amongst the intern class. Would meet up several times a week either at social events or in a non-formal environment. Open communication within the office as well.
Central London is expensive. However, you make a decent amount of money on the internship so it is manageable.
Multiple options that catered to young workers very close by.
You have to be proactive but there are many groups within RBS that host events and activities outside of work.
