The Role
An amazing experience. At all stages I felt supported by both my working team and the University staffing team. I felt the work I did truly added value and business impact, both to the sector I worked in and the wider business. I was given the freedom to think and work in my own way. The collaboration between the University staffing team and my core team made me feel truly supported throughout the year.
I felt very valued and that they really respected my opinion. I worked in a small team but had as much responsibility as them.
I felt very supported. I had regular 1:1's with my manager and the staffing team. I was able to voice any concerns I had etc. they listened to me and supported me.
Very busy but not too busy that I was stressed/overloaded.
A lot of responsibility both within my core role and on stretch projects I took on myself. Interns are given the responsibility and expected to be able to carry out like anyone else. The great thing is that we were treated as regular employees.
The work ethic I have gained during my time at Microsoft is something I will definitely be able to take back to University life. I have learnt how to collaborate and lead as well and this is something I feel will be very important for my final year in University, especially in group projects.
The Company

A lot of investment. My team even paid for me to go on training courses that I asked for so I could skill up on Microsoft products

Not too high, I still had money to do the things I want once I paid all my bills.
It was good. Lots of bars, clubs etc. There was places to go if you wanted to go on a night out/socialise
