The Role
Even though I changed my role three times whilst on placement I really enjoyed my time here at Cummins. The work environment is relaxed and there are a lot of opportunities to improve and learn. Working in different people and teams has really helped me improve my communication skills and has changed my overall personality for the better.
My manager had changed quite a few times so I cannot say that I got the best support , however my team members are very supportive and guided me whenever I struggled to understand a task or experienced any issues at work.
Initially my work load was light and relaxed on a daily basis, in order to make my the most out of my placement I took the initiative to work in another department and broaden my skill set. This added to my work load but again it wasn't too bad as I enjoyed it.
When I started my placement I was given the responsibility to manage the order management process. However over time I took the initiative to expand that role and also secured a role in Finance where I published credit reports on a monthly basis that were then sent out to senior level management.
The Company
Very diverse work culture, people from all around the globe. Overall, friendly work atmosphere.
It could have been better organised by the company as I got notified last minute that I secured a role within the company.
Due to a late start in my placement I didnt receive as much training as the other students. However, I was given the opportunity to use the online training modules.

The Culture
Company is based in Ramsgate, it is cheaper compared to London.
Nightlife in Ramsgate is not good but night life Canterbury is amazing as it is a student town! Canterbury is just 2 stops train journey.
Yes corporate responsibility, helping the community organizing events and alot more.
