The Role
Given huge responsibility and huge projects from the get-go. A fast-paced environment, which can be a little chaotic at times though!
Trusted by senior management and asked for my opinion and input on projects. Teams differ massively depending on your brand, but mine were fab.
Due to fast-paced environment, weekly meetings were often missed, and my manager changed a fair few times. But generally, good and flexible management.
L'Oreal is super busy and fast: expect 10 urgent things on your list at all times! You wont be sat around filing paper or getting coffee, that's for sure.
I was lucky enough to be trusted to run key projects: I know of some other interns who were maybe not given so much responsibility, but generally I think you get out what you put in, and interns are entrusted with huge elements of launches and projects.
General work ethic, thorough analysis and strategic thinking will help me a lot.
The Company
Never dull, a little chaotic, but generally very fun.
Very well set up - great onboarding process to allow you to meet other interns, and consistent contact with HR throughout the year in different forms, e.g. business academy sessions, and lunch and learn sessions with senior members of staff.
A fair amount of online training, and lots of business training in the first 6 months.

If you manage to secure a place on the grad scheme, it's a good springboard into senior management fairly early in your career. The grad scheme pay is good, but it's very hard to get onto. I believe you are supported well through the grad scheme though.
The Culture
Good, but always mid-week and clubbing/drinks so a little hard for those commuting to get involved with.
Hammersmith isn't the best location, so most socialising happened nearer to central London or Chelsea area. Therefore - expensive!
Hammersmith - nothing except the Queens Head pub, which is nice after work. Apart from that - not so good!
The committee set up a fair few trips to different things, so it's good for those new and moving to London. I generally didn't go, so hard to comment, but nice that they had a few different things going on (restaurant trips, leisure trips, running club etc)
