The Role
Really enjoyed my team at RBS.
Depends on the type of task given. If some tasks given feel like they add value to the overall big picture, then you feel more valued.
At the beginning people have a lot of time for you, and as you progress there is more time on your own once you have the skills.
Some days were really busy and others I did nothing.
Some tasks seemed like I was given more responsibility and other tasks were bottom of the rung tasks (which clearly have to be done by someone).
Powerpoint and excel skills can be transferred into most modern situations. Banking knowledge is very valuable for future opportunities
The Company
Some desks are quieter than others (we did a rotation).
Many events organised at certain times and reminders sent out to make sure you didn't forgot. We got given a booklet at the start with all the dates of events.
We had lunch and learns every Tuesday and Thursday to learn about relevant sectors. Also had talks from bosses.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
No idea how I've done.
The Culture
Brilliant group of people.
Expensive.
Lots of choices.
Tonnes of activities in London if you wanted to get involved
