The Role
I really enjoyed my placement
I felt valued to a great extent
I was given significant support and guidance by the necessary staff
It can vary considerably, but there's always enough to keep me busy
I was supported plenty to begin with and given responsibility and considered self-sufficient as soon as they had confidence in me.
They developed considerably. I am more confident academically and on a personal level.
The Company
Very relaxed, and plenty of cakes. But there was always a focus on good science
GSK have plenty of experience with students and usually well organised.
They invested a fair amount into ensuring I was competent in all the necessary science. Not just at the beginning but throughout the placement.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Considerably appealing.
The Culture
The student vibe is very much present in the GSK cohort
Fair
Rubbish, but with the right group it's great fun
Some available, but I was busy with university work.
