The Role
My placement year was very enjoyable due to the responsibilities given and the opportunity to travel. In addition to this, the large Foundation community made the year much more enjoyable.
My colleagues treated me as a pivotal part of the team as opposed to an intern that is within the team temporarily. I was given big responsibilities which meant I was a great deal of help to both my colleagues and managers.
My managers gave sufficient guidance throughout the scheme, however, also left me to my own devices after gaining trust within my work which helped learning on the job and quicker understanding of my job role.
Mostly 9-5 days but on occasions longer. However, during quieter periods e.g. Q3 I was able to get involved in other projects such as giveback.
I was given an increasing amount of responsibility throughout my year due to great work delivered.
Teamworking skills will be hugely beneficial within group work and future job when within my own team. Time management skills have been honed due to conflicting projects - conflicting deadlines at university. Communications skills allow me to converse exceptionally both verbally and written.
