The Role
I enjoyed it to a degree. It was very interesting learning about a massive company such as IBM and it was good when I was still learning about my role and finding ways to speed up processes, but once the learning curve slowed around the 8 month mark, it became less enjoyable and more like a typical job.
Working primarily in an office with Senior Managers & Project executives, I expected to be relatively forgotten as my role was relatively unimportant in comparison, however I felt very welcomed and valued as a member of the team.
To a great extent, there was always someone to talk to about any work issues, and almost everyone had a good grasp of different processes and could provide an answer to most questions
Very busy for most of the month around client meeting, but occasionally had quiet weeks with little work.
A good amount. I managed some very important processes that the account would not be able to function without. I also was invited to client meetings where I prepared financial analysis to report.
A good knowledge of new business areas that are applicable in my degree. Accounting, governance, audit etc
The Company
When the full team were in the office it was a fun loud environment, however, we often worked from home 1 or 2 days a week... not that thats a problem.
IBM have a very good onboarding process that works very well.
Not a lot besides an initial handover, and some seminars on various area of the business/skills
Flexi Time
Working from home
Grad placements are highly advertised for placement students and easy to apply to.
The Culture
