The Role
I was given varied, interesting work over my placement year. This meant the days were rarely dull. I have been surrounded by many other students on placement years, which is also a big bonus.
I was given meaningful tasks quite frequently, which made me feel quite valued, although at times when working with really senior people I felt less valued.
I was always able to ask my managers/colleagues for support if I ever needed it.
This varied quite a lot over the year due to the nature of the work I was doing. On average, I was not completely maxed out with work.
I was given quite important roles in projects, and asked to do some important tasks throughout my year.
Although the skills I have learnt will not directly benefit me with my degree, what I have learnt will benefit me following university as I have developed a wider skillset, and have a greater understanding of working in a professional environment.
The Company
The environment was good, with a floating desk structure on the floor I worked on.
Fairly well organised, although at times I was left wondering what to do next, even after to speaking to managers.
There are opportunities to complete training modules online.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Fairly appealing, although I want to see what other career paths are viable for me.
The Culture
With over 350 placement students across the country and 170 in London, the social scene was great.
London is expensive, so quite high!
Expensive but it is London, so good.
Not many that I was made aware of.
