The Role
Absolutely fantastic experience with IBM. Great exposure to the corporate world. !
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. The team valued my input and often implemented my own ideas.
All Foundation members are assigned a EPM for additional support & career advise. However, I was provided with a supportive team and wider network. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Everyday was different, some days rushed off my feet others were quieter. Overall, I was happy with the level of work.
A lot more than expected. I was given ownership of many tasks and asked to lead a very of projects.
I know have a strong understanding of how a business functions and how I can apply the theory to my assignments.
The Company
Great - very welcoming ! Portsmouth has a big intern community and a welcoming set of full time employees.
Very well organised, right from the first day !
IBM provided ongoing education sessions and workshops to attend.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Very. I have applied back to the graduate programme !
The Culture
Yes definitely. IBM take on over 300 interns a year.
I lived in Portsmouth so housing prices was relatively cheap. Only about £400 a month plus bills. Not alot happening in Portsmouth, but overall living costs were about average.
Portsmouth isn't exactly the most exciting city ! Afew nice pubs and bars at Gunwharf Quays I'd recommend.
Yes - IBM have various out of work socials (football & netball clubs). I lived other IBM interns also.
