The Role
Very enjoyable and good levels of support available for self-devlopment
Once you had expanded and developed your network you would regularly be reached out to by fellow colleagues for your help and assistance.
Help and support was regularly offered, and if you wished for more support it was readily available.
Sometimes it was up to you to seek out work for yourself, so self motivation was key.
You would regularly be relied on to deliver work and in some cases work which would be delivered to a client.
The year has given me the working mentality I can bring through to university life. I've developed many skills which will help me to stay pro active in my final year of university.
The Company
A professional working atmosphere, but a very relaxed one that was easy to work in. Open desk.
You will be given two managers. An intern specific manager that would over see a group of you, and then a task manager who would set your own personal specific work.
They made training available to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding in the work. They would also send you to client sites when necessary and pay for your expenses to do so.

There is so much going on at IBM and so many different roles.
The Culture
All social events were planned externally. The company didn't put anything toward the intern social scene.
London is a very expensive place to live. The wage they provide means you live a similar life to the one you do as a student, should you decide to rent centrally.
London has a very good night life.
They have sports teams and giveback opportunities where you can help the local community i.e help in schools.
