The Role
I have very much enjoyed my internship at Hays which has absolutely flown by! Due to the large responsibility I am given, it has been challenging but very rewarding
I have a very close relationship with my team and will be sad to leave shortly. They have always been encouraging for me to take on new work and supportive with any issues that I am having
My overall management and team leaders have been extremely supportive in my development throughout the year by organising training workshops for me to attend and to visit other departments of Hays to gain a greater understanding of their role to the business
On reflection, I feel that my workload on a daily basis has been manageable. Due to the reactive nature of my role, there could be days where I am very busy but by working efficiently I could meet deadlines
I feel that the level of responsibility I was given was appropriate for an intern level employee. My line manager was always encouraging if I wanted to take on new responsibilities
Due to the very unique nature of my role, it may be difficult to directly apply my day to day tasks to my further studies. It has however, influenced my option choices for my final year due to the interests i have gained in this field of work. The personal competencies i have developed in this role including my time management and communication skills will certainly help me in my future career
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office and especially within my team has been very positive. I have developed good working and social relationships with my team. It has overall been an enjoyable place to work
My internship has overall been organised well. It has included various reviews and opportunities to attend training and visits to other parts of the organisation
Hays have shown an investment in me by providing me with various opportunities to personally develop through training workshops
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
Hays are very supportive in encouraging interns to return to the company after completing university. Following my graduation, if opportunities are available, i would certainly be interested in returning to Hays
The Culture
Early in my placement, all Hays interns were invited to an intern conference for an afternoon to attend workshops and network with colleagues. I made some close contacts with other interns in the company but overall, the majority of my socialising involved my closer team.
Due to working in Central London, the cost of living and socialising could become expensive but all nights were very enjoyable. Due to the cost of living and fast transport links, I decided to live and commute from home to London in order to save money
As I was working in Central London, the night life in the area was fantastic! I had some very enjoyable nights out with my team and with friends
There were various activities arranged by my colleagues due to being in such a great location. A colleague within the team recently organised a night to go rock climbing which was a great team building exercise
