The Role
Having a project of my own gave me great motivation to work hard and plenty of freedom
The investment in people is excellent and they were always willing to spare some time to answer questions I might have
When help was needed and questions needed answering, that's what happened no matter how busy their schedule might be.
Quiet times were a struggle as the project was separate although this was due to an underestimation in my previous experience.
I was responsible for the project and was working independently
Having the ability to adopt new technologies and deploy them quickly is an important skill I will take forward
The Company
Much more relaxed than an office should be. No tie necessary
Can't complain
Team members would dedicate time to answer questions, weekly seminars educated on internal practices, different areas in technology as well as other aspects of the buisness
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Interns do a conversion interview towards the end of their placement. This focuses on your project work,
The Culture
Plenty of pubs near by. Some of the group even organised a trip to Amsterdam for bank holiday weekend
Cheap for London, Expensive for anywhere else. Would not recommend my particular accomodation due to security risks. Socialising costs are average for London. An average pint will cost you £3. The fancier the place the closer to
Bankers like beer. Canary Wharf has beer. If you want anything more exciting you can find it in London
Massively encouraged to get involved in the charity events that the firm does and their were also intern only events.
