The Role
I enjoyed the experience and meeting new people, however a year spent doing the exact same job role became rather boring.
I felt like my colleagues valued me quite a lot
My manager had an unrelated job role, therefore their support was minimal. However the other teams I had worked with were really supportive.
I was always busy working 9-5, sometimes even later. Interns at L'Oreal are given a lot more responsibility than expected.
I was given a lot of responsibility, often teams relied on my support to launch new products
I learned and developed a wide variety of skills while working, some vocational skills and some internal personal skills.
The Company
The atmosphere is often tense, with many of the other colleagues panicking under immense pressure. occasionally the atmosphere was lively, often on a Friday.
L'Oreal isn't the most organised business as it is such a large corporation. For example, the handover week for need interns is organised during the same week as the visit from the ceo.
There is no special training, unless compulsory online workshops that teach you how to sit in your chair count as special training.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The company is in a good location in London which makes it appealing, however it is not the work place for me.
The Culture
There were occasional social events, however they could be rather dull
very expensive, the monthly wage alone was not enough to live comfortably.
The nightlife was very good, however very expensive
Being in London there are options to do anything, you just have to look for what you want.
