    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement experience at UBS. I learnt a lot, was really lucky with my team, and everything was interesting and fun.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt respected by colleagues and really part of the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given as much support and guidance as I asked for. Never felt like there was no one to talk to.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was busy but the hours were really nice: 9am to 6pm (can be more depending on workload).

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility and trust which what I most enjoyed about my placement.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt about true discipline, how to work professionally and in a team, and how to do things right. Those skills can be applied anywhere.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was relaxed as in competition but very hardworking.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was well organised, but team rotations did not happen as promised. It would also be nice to have training courses throughout the year, not just in the first months.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • UBS has a Business University online and you can use it to develop yourself as much as you want. Also everyone is opened to have meetings with you to explain you about what they do or things that you are interested in.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • UBS is hiring especially young people. The company is going very well and earning more and more titles.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, we would go for lunch and drinks regularly.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is very expensive, but UBS Placement Salary is good enough to live decently and even save a little bit of money. The City is fun for after work drinks.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The Nightlife in London is really good and diverse!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes. There are a lot of fundraising events at UBS and Talks to attend. Very interesting events.
