The Role
I found the work quite challenging yet very interesting and enjoyable. The good thing is that there was no pressure at all and the work-life balance was great.
Everyone at Towers Warson was friendly and helpful. People were always willing to help, no matter what and when I asked them. They took on board what I said and guided me to the solution.
I was assigned a manager, a mentor and a buddy and they were amazing. They helped me settled down, asked people to give me work and most importantly, gave me great advice so that I was able to meet the objectives set out for me at the beginning of the internship.
People kept me busy from day one and everyday I got a different type of work. I was treated as if I was a new graduate and allowed me to take on real responsibilities.
I was involved in some large scheme valuations and was assigned a lot of significant tasks. This is really great because I was able to get a clear picture of what actuarial profession is really like.
What I learnt from the internship is beyond my expectations. The technical work that I was involved in as well as the project I worked on helped me develop my soft skills by a great deal.
The Company
Very friendly and comfortable. Everyone was really nice and we had Crussh Runs every week. People also brought in treats from their holidays.
Very well organised. We all had meetings with our managers to set out the objectives. Every week we discussed with them about our progress to make sure that we was following the right paths.
There were a few training sessions at the beginnings and also on the job training as I was assigned the work.
