The Role
This was a great experience, I was given so many opportunities and it was up to me to develop myself.
I was lucky to be part of a team that treated each other like a family, we always had social events and supported each other at work.
There is so much support over your placement year, you have a placement manager who is there to support you with an outside perspective of your role and there is your task manager who you work with on a day to day basis and gives you the training needed.
I was very busy in the first 4 months of my role and the last 6 months, there was a middle area where my day to day role was less demanding however there was plenty of opportunity to fill that gap - there are lots of giveback opportunities and training courses you can be a part of.
I was lucky to be given a lot of responsibility in my role - I didn't feel like an intern but a permanent employee.
My skills in excel, networking, presenting and communication have vastly improved over the last 12 months and that's thanks to IBM.
The Company
Over the last 12 months there has been a lot of change which has meant the office environment has had moments of unity and positivity and others of doubt and uncertainty, one thing for sure though is that there is a family feeling and never a dull moment!
