The Role
I found my placement very enjoyable.
I feel as though my team really valued my input. I was given recognition when I had produced good work,
The guidance and support I was given was very good and very helpful, however, I don't think I had quite enough supervision.
During the first half of the year my work was steady, but for the second half it was extremely busy. Sometimes too busy
I was given quite a lot of responsibility as I managed my own projects, in addition to helping with other projects.
General skills such as organisation and prioritisation will assist me in my studies when I return to University next year, I also learnt some medical content which may help me with specific modules next year.
The Company
Generally very friendly, open, willing to answer any questions. Occasionally some tension but this was rare.
Very disorganised. There was little alignment across the company regarding the industrial trainee programme, so managers were responsible for organising your year. This sometimes meant that I would be at a disadvantage if other interns were doing visits/skills training where my department wasn't involved.
The company invested a lot of money in my training and development. They allowed me to go to various conferences and events.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
There doesn't seem to be many future employment prospects for graduates within the organisation.
The Culture
Yes, although it would be a good idea to set up a committee or group in order to get everybody involved in social events
Reasonable
Poor, the office is very much on its own.
