The Role
i really enjoyed my time working here. People are very friendly, and will help you out if you ask them
For the most part i felt like a highly valued member of the team,
For the most part i was given a task and pushed towards being as proactive as possible with minimal micro management, you would be expected to work out your own problems where you could and only come back to your manager when you have exhausted other options. this can be a great way to learn quickly on the job if you are a proactive person
it came in troughs and peaks. there would be some weeks where i would have some free time, and others where i would be working solidly. It was always preferable to work the long days as it helped the day to fly by.
I was given a lot more responsibility than i was expecting with tasks for internal colleagues and also some external customers. this motivated me to focus harder and make sure the tasks i were doing were up to expectation
i think i have gained a huge amount of confidence within meeting rooms and dealing with my more senior colleagues. My organisation skills have also been hugely improved
The Company
It tended to be quite quiet within the office, and in some areas quite cliquey. however everybody in the office is nice and a lot are up for a chat is you stop to talk to them
The organisation was adequate, i was given a good oppotunity for the handover period, however it was not (at the start) easy to see the big picture of what my department were trying to achieve. and as such had to feel fully engaged at times
i was given several of opportunities to go and observe different areas of the business to get an better over all picture. There were also many working opportunities given to me, which were hugely beneficial to my development if not so for the business
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Very appealing, however location is an issue
The Culture
yes there was, however that was only due to the large number of placement students within the company. you have to go out and find your social scene if you want one
I lived in Epsom and for the house we got and how much there was to do in the area it was very expensive. Redhill would have been a better area
There are two bellow average nightclubs in our area, however it was a short taxi to kingston, or a slightly longer one to central London, where the night life is a lot of fun
Not unless you go out to find them
