The Role
Occasionally I would have the opportunity to work on innovative product developments that would eventually benefit the ealth of patients. However, the placement had a high level of administration work with limited time spent working on the active products. The focus on admin work made my placement more boring than expected.
I was fairly well known and respected. Colleagues also were extremely happy to answer any questions that I had and support us with anything that we required. However, there was a lot of admin work pushed onto me and my time was considered to be less valuable than other colleagues.
There was a great deal of support provided by my manager. However, it was difficult to communicate and get support from certain managers, whom are located in other contries for significant amounts of time.
There was little difference between the extremely busy periods and quiter periods of the year. We were also given long term project which were a struggle to complete alongside our day to day work.
There was very little responsibility given. However, due to the nature of my work, it would be very difficult to pass responsibility onto a less qualified individual.
There was little scientific degree based knowledge improvement appart from a few training courses and discussions related to our current work topics.
The Company
It was a peaceful and quiet office full of helpful colleagues.
There was an online training course that was sent to us and some managers helped us develop core skills and improve our work based knowledge. The personal development programmes were predominantly organised within the interns.

Working from home
I would like to work within a different department within the same company. However, there are very few hiring opportunities wthin the company and the graduate scheme is catered to specific business units only. The outcome is that you are extremely unlikely to get a job in this company after graduation.
The Culture
There were lots of interns who you were able to socialise with. Also, living together is promoted and facillitated once you have an ffer from the company.
The area that I live in is similar to a small isolated town. However, you can access London very easily and the train journey takes only 50 minutes.
There is no nightlife in our area. However, If you can take an occasional weekend trip to London, the odd quiet weekend is acceptable.
There are very few opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
