The Role
I really enjoyed my placement year it was a real job with real responsibilities.
My colleagues trust me and I feel that the really value the work that I do each day.
My manager has been really supportive of me. I can always go to her about any questions that I have. The on the job training that I have received has been great.
I was always busy on a daily basis and there is always tasks that need to be completed. If I was ever unsure my manager would point me in the right direction.
I was given a good amount of responsibility. It was really good to be trusted with tasks that were important or sensitive.
The skills that I have gained are definitely transferable and I will be able to take with me back to university. I have also developed skills that are role specific and hope to continue in HR when I leave university.
The Company
The atmosphere was positive and fast paced.
There were many students taking a placement year and there was a 2 day induction that we all took part in. It was a really good way for everyone to get to know eachother and understand Faurecias core values. The introduction to the plant and the role by my manager was done really well.
I had a lot of support and training on the systems using SAP, GV and time and attendance through the company. The on the job training that I received from my manager was excellent and I was always supported .
Above 25 days holiday
There are many opportunities for graduate and international experiences once you have completed your placement.
The Culture
Many of the placement students met up outside of work for evenings out so it was nice to socialise.
Some of the places to rent in the area are quite expensive.
Lichfield is good for a few drinks out in the pub and there is a walkabout however it isn't like going out in a university city.
