The Role
I really enjoyed the feel of the firm and the work I was set to do.
I know that the work I have done is useful to the team, and in some cases I have seen it used in official documents and for decision making, but I have found the teams to not be very sociable at times, due to the nature of the investment sector.
Any questions I have had have been answered, leaving me with no doubt.
I have always had something to do with my time, having not spent any time at all trying to 'look busy'.
Enough responsibility that I felt valued, and that my work is valued, but naturally, nothing too heavy!
My knowledge of Microsoft Excel has improved massively, which will help in the final year of my degree, and beyond.
The Company
Having been in two investment teams, the atmosphere is naturally very hard working, everybody gets their heads down and cracks on. Hence, it has been a little unsociable at times but that is the nature of an investment role.
The organisation has been fantastic, there have been so many events organised to get the interns involved in what goes on at Savills, with external networking events also having been available.
The tem members I have worked with have taken the time to sit down with me, talk to me about the job and any tasks I need to complete, aiding my development no end.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to get a place on the Savills Graduate Scheme.
The Culture
Despite my best efforts to get people out to Loop on multiple occasions, no one has really been very keen to socialise out of office hours. However, some of us have lunched together on multiple occasions, but others preferred to spend the time with their teams.
I lived outside of London and commuted in, so not too expensive, and lunch at the right places is no more expensive than anywhere else.
I haven't really experienced it, but hear it's a good crack.
A few events have been organised for interns and grads to mix.
