The Role
My year with Disney was absolutely brilliant, filled with great experiences for my future career as well as fun extras too
You aren't treated like an intern- truly valued as one of the team and the Disney family
I had a really supportive manager and team around me who could always give advice on anything when needed
Throughout the year there were some busier times than others, but I always found myself with plenty to do
I never expected to be given so much responsibility as an intern, but I felt as if my work really did make an impact and was left in control of some big projects
I've definitely gained and developed more skills in my year internship than I have at any point today, and they definitely make me feel more equipped for my final year at uni as well as beyond
The Company
The office was a buzzing and dynamic work place which everyone enjoyed, but also encouraged hard work too
In general Disney were very prepared and informative before and during my placement year
In terms of actual training I don't think there was much invested- skills were largely picked up through working
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Travel loan
It'll be the first place I look for a job once I graduate!
The Culture
With hundreds of interns in the building and a friendly team the social scene was brilliant
Naturally, being London, costs were pretty high- especially compared to student living
Even though it is pricier, the nightlife in London is second to none and the amount of bars and pubs in Hammersmith is huge
We had a Summer event as well as some other fun activities, often around film releases or major sports events
