The Role
The SAP placement was an enjoyable and educational experience
I felt extremely valued, my team treated me as a full time colleague and provided me with a high degree of responsibility thus making me feel valued
support was given whenever I required it, everyone was friendly and approachable
I always had tasks that I could be engaging within so I always had something to do - month and quarter end periods were the busiest and most stressful however it exposed me to the corporate work life
i had a great degree of responsibility within the team, so much so that I engaged with key stakeholders internally and provided crucial financial information for decision making to be made
the finance role fits in perfectly with my university degree, as well as learning key accounting processes i have also developed my professional persona which will not only make me more proactive during my final year at university, it will also help me to succeed when applying for graduate schemes
The Company
the atmosphere is relaxed yet professional
The placement structure was very well organised - it is lead by the interns for the interns and regulated by management to ensure the process runs smoothly
SAP offers a variety of personal development and training programmes such as workshops, external events (some were hosted by Maynard Leigh) and a variety of opportunities to engage in on the job learning as well as cross functional participation
