The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my year at Pfizer, you are given real responsibility and challenging projects. Overall, it was a really rewarding year and now I do not want to leave!
Everyone at Pfizer is welcoming and helpful, you are treated as any other colleague.
My manager and team provided me with constant support and guidance. I was given weekly one to one meetings with my manager to ensure that I was ok. The team provided me with training from the start and continuous support was provided throughout my year.
I was never bored! No day is the same, the workload is very varied and balanced. During busy periods my manager provided support to balance out my workload.
I was given lots of responsibility, I was tasked with numerous projects that was my responsibility to lead and ensure is completed by the set deadlines.
I have developed my IT skills immensely. It has also provided me with real life experiences of business/HR that I will be able to use in my final year. I have also had the opportunity to attend courses/training sessions, such as, attending a Mock Employment Tribunal.
The Company
Welcoming, friendly and positive.
Very well organised, at the beginning of my placement I attended a site induction and a welcome breakfast to give me an opportunity to meet other students. I was then provided with the relevant training for my role by my team.
At the beginning of my placement year my manager asked me what I wanted 'get out of' the placement, and she ensured that I was given the opportunity to do so. For example, I was interested in payroll so my manager organised for me to visit the Payroll team for a week.

I would very much like to return to Pfizer after completing my degree and feel I would have a good chance of getting one in the future if the opportunity arose.
The Culture
There is a welcome breakfast and induction at the beginning of the placement for all students to meet one another. Students regularly meet up outside of work for social events (e.g. AirHop, clubbing, etc.)
Cost of living is higher than average, however the salary compensates for this.
